I think the mistake people make is feeling they have to choose one over the other. Case in point, I have an adult cousin who is gay. Growing up, his older brother was as heterosexual as can be, captain of the football team, the school heartthrob to all of the girls, etc. My gay cousin, from an extremely young age was always more interested in engaging in girl's activities such a dolls, etc. There was no significant difference in the way the two were raised, therefore I feel my cousin was indeed born gay. If the nurture argument is correct 100% of the time, why do the vast majority of gays have heterosexual siblings?
That's not to say people can become gay. Witness the many survivors of sexual abuse who end up gay to cope with their previous tragedies.

If the nurture argument is correct 100% of the time, why do the vast majority of gays have heterosexual siblings? There are three causes to 'homosexuality' (really it's Same-sex Attraction Disorder or SAD)
1. Molestation.
2. An absent or insufficient relationship with one's father
3. Rejection by ones peers during the formative years
My brother is trapped in the SAD lifestyle due to reason 2. He hated dad and dad didn't care to much for him either.
Homosexual behavior is always by nurture. You have to remember that nurture includes the actions of people outside the family. If one brother is molested at school by a 'homosexual' teacher and the other isn't it's quite likely that the molested one will have sexual deviancy problems of his own but the undamaged one will be sexually healthy.

therefore I feel my cousin was indeed born gayWhy because he exhibited female interests?
Just because a boy shows more interest in dolls than trucks does not
mean he was born homosexual
Boys like that get labeled homosexual (and label themselves)because the interest is an assumed association by society.
And indeeed there may be a gentic propensity to female interests or same sex attraction but one still has TO CHOOSE TO ACT upon it.
ITS STILL A CHOICE

If the nurture argument is correct 100% of the time, why do the vast majority of gays have heterosexual siblings? Because siblings arent always completely the same or always completely different. Theres absolutely no replicable scientific correlation that indicates that relationship. Just look at the dozens of MZ twin studies that have a concordance rate from 0% to 100%, theres no reliable evidence either way especially your anecdotal evidence.

I think the evidence indicates that homosexuality has both a hereditary as well as an environmental cause. I remember reasing a very interesting article about research that was done on identical twins who were separated at birth and adopted by different families. If homosexuality were truly genetic, then these twins would always tend to be homosexual or heterosexual in pairs. But if homosexuality were truly caused by environmental factors, then the separated twin sibling of a homosexual would be no more likely to be homosexual than any random person that is sampled.
If I remember correctly, the results of the research indicated that homosexuality occurred in pairs of separated twins more frequently than in random pairs of people, but far less frequently than one would expect if homosexuality were only based on genetic factors.
