The Merriam Webster guy did his best, but that's an Americanized pronunciation and isn't really correct. The Midwestern vowels sound very peculiar.

Here's a German link for pronouncing the word as it is spoken in German. Go down to "part 2", it's the 7th word:

This is always a problem with foreign words that have migrated into English. Until you've heard a rural South Georgia lawyer attempt to pronounce "voir dire", you haven't lived! Whatever it is, it sure ain't French!

And by the way, however you DO pronounce it, this is REALLY a Schadenfreude moment!

You mean "vohr die uhr"? That's probably the most common pronunciation here in Fla.
