Ontario... the land area of Texas and Montana combined, the 7th largest population after Pennsylvania, home to the 4th largest city in the U.S., Toronto, and 18 congressmen and 2 senators in Washington D.C. Hmm... :D

But that doesn't mean we can't downsize to 48 states and give 'em New York and Massachusettes. Heck, toss in Vermont and make it 47.

No way. Never cede an inch of American soil. As a Massachusetts resident, I am not willing to give up my U.S. citizenship for anything and I will not allow anybody to barter it away.

As for Canada, it makes sense for them to join the United States at some point in time. Once one or two of the western provinces secede from Canada, things will happen rapidly to achieve this end. Before this century is out, I predict that the United States will extend from the Arctic Circle to the Panama Canal. At some point later, even the South American countries will eventually join the fold.

Call me crazy but if I told you in 1980 that the U.S.S.R. would disintegrate and that Eastern Europe would be free of the Communist yoke within a decade, you would laugh at me then too.

Things are going to happen very quickly in my opinion. The United States will not allow competitors like China and the EU to become superpowers of equal status. The United States is destined to cover this entire hemisphere. And no, we won't be speaking Spanish.
