Foreign Legislature
Question Time
British House of Commons
London (United Kingdom)
ID: 176887 - 06/04/2003 - 0:33 - NS
Blair, Tony, Prime Minister, Labour, United Kingdom, Sedgefield

Prime Minister Blair answered questions from members of his party and the opposition about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, intelligence reports about Iraqi weapons, and reports in the British press about stated reasons for military action in Iraq.
TOPICS: Breaking News; Extended News; Foreign Affairs; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections; United Kingdom; War on Terror
KEYWORDS: blair; intelligence; tonyblair; wmd; wmds
Must see. Tony Blair defiantly and bluntly denies accussations that he (his office) cooked intelligence on WMD, confounds critics (incl Iain Duncan Smith, alas) pretty effectively. Another great performance by Tony. God Bless him for Iraq, but British conservatives need to figure out how to retire him to the opposition. I don't recommend the approach Duncan Smith adopted on this occassion.
Priceless moment. One nutty lefty goes into a diatribe about the government spending funds on "unsustainable" logging. You get the impression that whole forests will be razed. Turned out it was some stupid little fence of some kind being installed in her constituency. Conservatives howlled in derision, and even Blair laughed at her, suggesting she needed to talked to the contractor.

I would be delighted to organize a London pub search, but alas I'm nowhere near the U.K. It might be worth checking the bars in Dallas, though. (Better safe than sorry.)
