[history]
June 9, 2003 -- IT is sad and even embarrassing to listen to people attack the U.S. government for somehow being out to "get" Martha Stewart over the ImClone scandal.
The fact is, they are spouting bunk and ought to stop it.

Facts, facts, and MORE facts, instead of whinging and spin. Now, if only the FREEPERs, who know less than nothing about this case, yet are standing up for Martha ( and GOD, in HIS infinite wisdom, only knows why ), would read this, perchance they'd stop posting such silly things/ defending her.

Regardless of who you are - from a factory floor worker in a print shop to a superstar celebrity with your own TV show - you cannot lie to government officials and expect to get away with it. |

This is a good article and dispels the myths with excellent logic, but the blindly loyal fans of Martha will not be moved, especially since it is written by the author of "Martha, Inc." whom many of these fans consider an enemy of Martha (EOM?). I'm sure that Mr. Byron is taking notes and will have enough material for a second book after this "ridiculousness" is settled.

Fake currency and conflict of interests are crimes indeed. Lying about them tops it all off.

Thanks for the ping. This is the BEST article yet. Funny how Martha's defense team sounds so much like Hitlery's defense team. Same ole' arguments, only slightly different guise.

Yes, and Hitlery just came out in support of Martha. Looks like a pair of peas in a pod.
It would be wonderful to see them get matching cells.

Hillary and Martha have one thing in common. They both ask, "You mean the law applies to ME?"
They thought it was just for the little people who don't have entourages surrounding them.
It's just a little "oopsie" misunderstanding.

If Martha's attorney is such a hotshot, why doesn't he just use the "Clinton" defense. Lie but smile while doing it and everyone will forget and forgive. See how easy it is?

She's just the typical greedy, self serving liberal who believes she is head and shoulders above the rest of us. Designing or catering to those not in her financial league through products leaves her feeling smug and all the more pious.

You're welcome. At least THIS article lays out the facts and doesn't rely on spin/emotion to set the record straight.Instead, it explains it all, so even the most dense can understand what's what. :-)
Yep, Martha & Hilary ... cut from the same mold.
