Yet, he then apologized to the Reverend - IN PRIVATE. This is the first this information has come out (to my knowledge).

Ok, good, I'm not the only one who did a double-take on that. Can we get confirmation we've been privy to an official Left Wing SecretTM?

"On most issues in the 2000 election, the nationThe Nation was actually to the left of Al Gore," Alterman explained.

LMAO. I nominate you for the greatest typo correction of the day if there is such a thing. This is probably exactly how he meant those words when he spoke them and then presto........a friendly writer does a little extrapolating and what do you know? Another "expert" is quoted as uttering a sacred truth. Pure propaganda and total BS. Great job IMO.

Last Friday night, and replayed last night on CSPEW errr CSpan, a program called Media Bias including Eric Alterman foaming along with a few other activist org heads laid their diatribe and putrious vitriol on a select group of folks about the future of broadband media and their causes and their desires to stop the FCC from enacting its most recent changes in media ownership, which in all honesty, is not that significant.

The following link is for the associated thread on FR. I did some quick cut and paste about a few of the orgs that are going to be at the vanguard of liebral activism the next few years.

Anyone interested, please go to

Eric Alterman Mentioning FreeRepublic on C-SPAN NOW

and no more curried deviled eggs. They give the Unknown Planetary Overlords gas ... Then I'm definitely going to whip up about 50 gallons of my famous 15-bean soup, and bring Eric Alterman along as my personal guest.

"No, really, Eric-- the Left is welcome..."

Their problem is not unusual. They all talk to each other and think, because they hear no dissenting view, that the rest of the country thinks like them. Good way to lose everything.

Which, in an interesting bit of irony, is what they accuse conservatives of doing.

Hey, Mr. Alterman, it appears that one of Alvin Toffler's predictions in his legendary book The Third Wave has come to bite the liberals in the rear end.

Toffler in that book (published in 1979) predicted that as technology improves the concept of the mass media will become increasing obselete as every advocacy group now has a more fair chance to get their voices heard. He called it demassification of the media, and since the early 1980's it has changed the world literally.

The rise of the public Internet, conservative talk radio, and the Fox News Channel has literally shaken the the Left-leaning old-time mass media outlets literally to its foundations. Even as late as twelve years go the actions of the former New York Times Editor-in-Chief Howell Raines could have gone pretty much unchallenged; but now with alternate sources of information people are successfully challenging the bias of old-time mass media, as shown by how 24-hour cable news channels and the Internet speeded up the process to bringing down Raines' rule as Editor-in-Chief.

I control the media in my house. We dropped cable and installed a DISH to get FNC. We dropped our local liberal rag and I get my news from the Net.

It is essential that we all deny our hard earned dollars and attention to the liberal media who would destroy our way of life. It is finally having a dramatic impact.

I believe that the NYT circulation was down 5.3 percent last year. Such a decline will have devastating effects on them in just a few short years. I can hardly wait !

Good for you. I watch Fox, also, plus get my news from maybe 20-30 news sources on the internet.

However, most of the sheeple get their news from one of the broadcast networks, and unfortunately Tom, Peter, and Dan, and their minions, are firmly in the Leftie camp. I'd like to see the left's stranglehold on broadcast TV news loosened.

The liberals live in another universe....

to quote imyourhuckleberry from another thread...

The Democrat's base, the "Anti-War" crowd, the "Nancy Pelosi Liberals", they are the freaks and degenerates of the Earth. They look like the cast of the Lord of the Rings, the aliens in the Cantina Bar in Star Wars, the ihabitants of Jabba's Palace in Return of the Jedi. That's the Democrat Party faithful. Twisted, gibbering, deformed, hulking, stunted, slithering, freaks...the entire Democratic Party...

Someone needs to remind Alterman about all the times Hillary invited Scaife to White House dinners in thanks for his many contributions to WH restoration projects...all the while the Clinton smear machine was trashing him everyday in the press.

Their is not even a word for what those people are.
