June 9, 2003 -- IT WAS a robbers' sil- ver-barreled handgun aimed at his face that forever changed Adam Al-Ghaithi's life.

"This is the end," the 17-year-old high-school junior said to himself during a recent stickup. "I'm going to die - it's in God's hands."

Memo to Adam:
It is not the fact that you are of Arab ancestry that will prevent you from getting a NYC gun permit. They will deny your Constitutional rights without regard to your ancestry.

Bingo. In NYC recently, we've had the case of the black armed forces veteran who shot an intruder in his son's room, and the permanent legal resident Dominican who shot an armed robber in his deli. Both are being prosecuted for having "illegal" firearms. I'm sure we could dig around and easily find a case involving a white man.

NYC is an equal-opportunity rights infringer.

Joan Rivers, Donald Trump, Howard Stern, Robert De Niro and other big shots somehow get permits - and they have the money to hire bodyguards.

And you can bet these liberals dont support the Right of ordinary citizens to keep and bear arms for their own protection and their families protection.. The elite who are the court jesters of our society are allowed our constitutional rights despise those very same rights..for those who support them..by buying their assinine entertainment

>> "After 9/11 they don't trust Arabs," said Adam, who's from Yemen, where his mother and siblings still live. "And, in my opinion, they won't give us a gun permit because of it."

Well that's not the reason, but he's correct that he's not going to get one.

Does NY have the initiative?
They need three. First, repeal the Sullivan Law, then pass state preemtion of city gun laws, then enact shall issue. Oh, and stop electing Democrats to office (including RINOs like Rudy and Pataki).

Most states now have shall issue, and a lot of them have preemtion. They are doing just fine.

And you can include Steven Seagal, who I believe, is an avid gun-control freak.

Right you are. It's amazing!

and a lot of them have preemtion.

What's "preemption" mean to a gun owner?

Here's a map showing the promising trend. (Vermont is still the only state which understands, "shall not be infringed.")

"It is criminal to teach a man not to defend himself when he is the constant victim of brutal attacks. It is legal and lawful to own a shotgun or a rifle. We believe in obeying the law. In areas where our people are the constant victims of brutality, and the government seems unable or unwilling to protect them, we should form rifle clubs that can used to defend our lives and our property in times of emergency, such as happened last year in Birmingham, Plaquemine, Louisiana; Cambridge, Maryland; and Dan ville, Virginia. When our people are being bitten by dogs they are within their rights to kill those dogs. We should be peaceful, law-abiding--but the time has come for the American Negro to fight back in self-defense whenever and wherever he is being unjustly and unlawfully attacked."-- Malcolm X in a press conference, New York City, March 13th 1963
