JERUSALEM -- Few people in June 1967 would have imagined that, 36 years later, controversy would still engulf the territories won by Israel in the Six-Day War. Numerous peace plans have sought to resolve the status of the West Bank and Gaza, but without success. Now, on the anniversary of that war, George W. Bush is trying again.

Excellent article, addressing the core issues which are so clear that Ray Charles can see them. The Palestinians do not want peace, which is why war must continue to a conclusion. In time the truth will become obvious to everyone -- even those who don't wan't to see it -- and Israel will tell meddling Western states to back off while she does what she must do. And she will...

The road to peace in Israel and the West Bank can be achieved with radical measures.
1. All Jewish settlements on the West Bank must be removed.
2. Any Israeli Palestinians that are envolved in illegal
acts against the state of Israel will be expelled to the
West Bank, lose their Isralie citizen ship and be compensated for their lost property.
3. A mine field will be placed between Israel and the new
state of Palestine. This Mine Field will be a Free Fire
zone and anyone trying to cross it illegally will be
shot.
4. Attacks from Southern Lebanon or Syria are to be
considered attacks by orders of the Syrian Government
Syria will then be attacked and destroyed as a terrorist
state.
5. If the State of Israel will not agree all economic and
military aid should be stopped, and we do not give a damn what happens to them. (Their economy will collapse)
6. If the Palestinian Authority will not agree all aid
should be withdrawn and we inform them we do not give a damn what happens to them. (Israel would destroy them)
7. All policy we adopt will be in the interest of the United States of America, not the Palestinians and not Israel.
8. Jeruselum will be divided as in the past. Those wishing
to visit holy sites not on their side will be allowed to
but only after stringent security measures are in place.
I think I am going to get flamed, I must go find my asbestos underwear.

"1. All Jewish settlements on the West Bank must be removed." Does that include Jerusalem?
"2. Any Israeli Palestinians that are envolved in illegal acts against the state of Israel will be expelled to the West Bank, lose their Isralie citizen ship and be compensated for their lost property."
Learn to spell before you become the Great Peacemaker.
"8. Jeruselum will be divided as in the past. Those wishing to visit holy sites not on their side will be allowed to but only after stringent security measures are in place. "
Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and not a single square centimeter will be ceded to the Arabs. The "palestinian" homeland already exists; it is called Jordan. ALL so-called palestinians should be deported to Jordan post haste and the borders sealed.

If I'm not mistaken this was suppose to be the case when Israel was created. It's my opinion Israel will never agree to this.
flame flame flame flame :-)
For what it's worth. At the time of the 6 day war there was considerable debate in the Israeli gov. over weather they should go into the west bank and capture the Jordanian half of Jerusalem (At least according to Michael Oran in "Six Days of War".

I have a much better plan, actually I have two :)
Plan A - Israel annexes as much land she could afford without making Arabs a majority in Israel, leaves everything else to Palestinians, closes the border, and lets Palestinians do whatever they like.
Plan B - Israel cleanses out Arabs from the West Bank and Gaza and annexes the whole thing and faces the consequences by living a life of a paria state for about 20 years.
Everything else is either unrealistic or its outcome is much worse for Israel than outcome of either Plan A or Plan B.

Well you ought to be flamed but I figure it is not worth the effort. The Arabs of Palestine will continue to kill Jews as that is their purpose in life and all the wrangling and treaties and threats will not change that. But the one thing I picked to mention of your is this:
7. All policy we adopt will be in the interest of the United States of America, not the Palestinians and not Israel.
Tell me, don't you think going around the world to enforce your policies in the interest of the United States on another foreign country that happens to be a democracy is a bit much? Who gives you the right? One would think that the meddling that created the Oslo Accords pretty much cost Israel a lot of lives, an apology for failed busybody doctrines to support terrorist regimes might be in order, not another round of swill.
Just thought I would point out the Ugly American syndrome for you, as you obviously missed it.

I vote for either one of your plans, provided that they include minefields, sensors, booby traps, and other surveillance and deterence devices that I can't think of.

Love your profile page!
I too learned alot living in Israel for 3 months. I also got death threats from the "peace loving" PA.
I'm also not Jewish but there are days where I wish I was.
Take care, keep low.

I like plan b.

Jordan expelled the Palestinians years ago because they were troublemakers there, too.

addressing the core issues which are so clear that Ray Charles can see them.Well I'm not blind, but I am "History challenged" because I didn't think History was interesting when I was in school. So I've been playing catch-up ever since.
I think I have a handle on the Israeli-Palestinian (aka Arab) conflict since 1967. But I haven't yet learned what the pre-1967 hatred of Jews/Israel is about. In fact, I think I might start a thread about this, so that all the ignorant people like myself can be brought up to speed on the history of this pervasive hate.
Without knowing what the pre-1967 history of hatred for Jews is about, I can't get beyond my urge to yell "1967 was 36 years ago!! Get over it!! You don't live there any more!! Stop pretending to be "refugees" when you NEVER lived there in the first place!! (for everyone who is 36 years of age or younger, which most of the radical-types usually are)
