I listened to Neil's 'common sense' today. He paid a high tribute to a man well deserving of same. Neil appeared to be on the verge of a tear. I like that guy.

RIP to one of the old guard.
Too bad these personality traits are considered pathologies today, to be analyzed and drugged out of existence.
Kudos to Neil for honoring them.

Ah, well age has it's advantages then. Just when I was feeling down because of arriving in middle age - here comes something to make me appreciate "being there."
When I graduated from college, Jimmy Carter was president. Interest rates, inflation and unemployment were sky high. I mean, like 18%-range mortgage rates. Embassy employees were hostage in Iran. Gas lines due to the arab oil embargo. I had a hard time finding a job. I truly, truly believed that I would never be able to afford to own a house. Life pretty much s*cked.
Then came Ronald Reagan. At the time, I was still suffering from the liberal indoctrination from the education establishment in this country and didn't appreciate what he did at the time. But, thanks to Reagan, our military was restored, our economy was restored, and, dare I say, our hope in the future was restored.
Keep hanging around FR, you'll learn a lot!

Thanks for the words. I used to be liberally-indoctrinated up until last summer (my post-high school/pre-college summer), when I decided to listen to Rush Limbaugh out of boredom.
