That's the way they think. To them, nothing is more odious than a parent who believes that their kids are their kids, to be brought up how they see fit - what all this really means, is that *they* want to be able to deconstruct the familial ties, values, mores and memes that transmit culture and civilization - and not incidentally, happy, long productive lives - and tear them down, via "sins" that we all know are counterproductive. This is why homeschooling is so popular, for a start.
