I wonder if this reporter knows that those of us that had bag cam saw one hotel bound reporter asking London what was going on in Baghdad.Fox had a deal with the Brit station .How many interviews did she get with jailed jounalists? I watched fire fights live on American TV and bet I know more than she.

Did you hear one report coming out of Baghdad during the war of any worth?Baghdad Bob became entertaining at the end but what good is access without truth?I've heard them say they wanted to be there when we came in but that was not her point.

My doubts of this story are based on the fact that the average reporter couldn't tell a missile launcher from a windmill stand.
To: MEG33
They equate access with ratings. Add that to their being biased as heck in the first place and you have a match made in Hades.

I would know a missile when I saw it and they were all over residential areas.

"Hilsum also said it was a "scandal" that three American networks pulled out of Baghdad before the war began. On top of that, the former Iraqi regime ejected Fox News and CNN, meaning American viewers had no home-grown account of what was going on in the city." British viewers had no home-grown account of what was going on in the city either, thanks to the self censorship of Ms. Hilsum. What a bizarre twit.

When covering future combats, Hilsum said broadcasters should ensure that if they hire security guards they should not be allowed to carry arms, as happened in Iraq. How stupid is this?

"The Atlanta Constitution had two correspondents but the American networks weren't there and that's very serious because it means the Americans don't know what happened," Hilsum said. H'mm let's see how this works.
If a "journalist" reports what is actually going on, he will be deported.
Yes, but if he doesn't report what's going on, the "Americans don't know what happened."
This would only make sense to a college professor.

Yup, agree wholeheartedly on the embeds. And I think our lamestream media is going to need some new reporters if they want to continue to stick to the party line.

How stupid is this? This would cause a stupidometer to explode.
To: MEG33
That is correct! Most of the surface to air missles were catagorized with SCUDS, which are rocket launched bombs, like the V-2.

I would know a missile when I saw it and they were all over residential areas.
They were mostly SA-2 Surface to Air Missles. Large, but thinner than a SCUD.
I don't think this reporter could tell a SCUD from a Saturn V.
There were no SCUDs fired at all in the war.
