Rantisi: We will drive all Jews out of Palestine [And Bush is troubled by trying to assasinate him?]
Jerusalem Post ^ | Jun. 11, 2003 | KHALED ABU TOAMEH

Hamas leader Abdel Aziz Rantisi vowed from his hospital bed Tuesday that Israel and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon would never be safe, following the attempt to assassinate him.

"This pig Sharon will not enjoy security [because] Palestine is a land of jihad," Rantisi said in an interview with al-Jazeera TV shortly after he underwent surgery at Gaza City's Shifa Hospital.

"The gun will reach every inch of Palestine if they [Israelis] don't stop targeting Palestinian children, women, and old people, destroying homes, blockading and detaining people," Rantisi said.

Rantisi said earlier he had jumped out of the car after the first missile strike. He said he was wounded in the leg and chest. "By God, we will not leave one Jew in Palestine. We will fight them with all the strength we have. This is our land, not the Jews'," Rantisi added.

"You will have no security except outside the homeland [Palestine]," Rantisi said, addressing the Israelis.

"We will defend this homeland with all the strength we have. We have Allah on our side, and we have the sons of the Arab and Islamic nation on our side," he said.

"I say this without having yet woken up from the anesthesia," Rantisi added. Asked how he felt, Rantisi said: "I am all right, thanks to Allah. I have been deprived of martyrdom. May Allah grant me martyrdom."

A Hamas statement said that the attack was an Israeli "declaration of war," and that all cease-fire talks with the Palestinian Authority were off.

Hamas spiritual leader Ahmed Yassin said Israeli civilians would be targeted in revenge attacks. "Israel is targeting Palestinian civilians, so Israeli civilians should be targeted. From now on all Israeli people are targets," Yassin said after visiting Rantisi in hospital. "We got Israel's message. They should now expect the answer."

Another Hamas leader, Mahmoud Zahar, said, "Israel should expect that this crime will not pass without severe punishment."

And let me say that when they say "Palestine" they don't mean just those "occupied" territories. They mean removing Israel from the map. This is the same policies of the PLO, which the roadmap negotiates with.

Yup. Such a creature in my mind deserves but one fate. I hope Israel gets him next time.

Correct me if i'm wrong...but weren't there only a small amount of arabs living in Israel before it actually became Israel, and that their population boomed only after Israel came into existence? And did Israel actually kick people off their land? Please tell me, I really don't know the history. Thanks

I'm not the best on Middle East history either, but I believe that I've heard the same thing--that there were very few people in the area but when the Jews came in and made something of it, suddenly Arabs wanted a piece of the action. They just can't stand that the Jews have made something out of a cruddy little piece of land. I've seen our dogs do the same thing with a bowl of food--one may not want the food at first but if that dog sees another dog come over and try to eat, all hell breaks loose.

Dennis Prager just confirmed on his radio program what we had been thinking. A caller was asking about the history of the area and he said that the area of Palestine (never a sovereign state just an area on a map) had about 220,000 Arabs in the area before Israel became a state. He also said that Jews throughout history have always been a majority in Jersaleum. Then he went on to say that the Arabs came back when the Jews made the desert bloom.

I'm not sure how much that site can be trusted - it looks like a Jewish Extremist home page

I will assume for a moment that you are truly seeking information and not simply baiting. This reply of yours makes me wonder.

Facts are valid if they can be verified independently no matter where they are posted.

Go to any Islamic site. They reference nothing other than another muslim's opinion. They never provide references which are neutral or official government statistics prior to 1948.
After 1948 I would never believe even official muslim government statistics.

If you can get your hands of a first edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica, for instamce, look up "mahomet" and "mahomedanism". Long before the concept of "Zionism" was created.

"From Time Immemorial" by Joan Peters is the definitive book on your question. She set out to prove the palestinian position by lengthy and thorough scholarship research, and was honest enough to acknowledge that the opposite was proven by the record: The muslims had no such claim to the land.

Begin with the fact that to the extent that it went, 85%+ of the entire region belonged to the Turkish Empire (government lands) and that empire lost a war (and the area) in 1917.

What do you mean when you say "baiting?"

No, really??? I didn't know that....

I questioned the site simply because no sources whatsoever are cited at all. It seems as if someone threw information on the page.

No! I had no idea...

I've seen these sites. I saw Hazma's site from London the other day. It is sick.

But there are extremists on BOTH sides. Some Jews are just as bad, if not worse than the worst Palestinians. I don't trust either side. But hey, if you choose to trust the JDL, that's you're perrogative

The only thing I know for sure about Ariel Sharon is that he's a nicer guy than I am. I mean, what's wrong with bombing a hospital? There's other hospitals....

Time to forget the Roadmap to Hell, and try "Land for Terror."

For each terror bomb, permaently annex another strip of the West Bank to Israel. Push out the arabs, and move the concrete wall sections forward.

Eventually, they will give up, or all be living in one strip against Jordan.

Death means nothing to them, they worship death. Show them that terror tacits will hurt them where it matters to them: take Land for Terror.

Hee hee. Put the power of Allah and all the Arab and Islamic nation's sons in one hand, take a crap in the other, and see which fills up first.

From now on all Israeli people are targets," Yassin said after visiting Rantisi in hospital.

"From now on"? -

Since when haven't they been targets -
