CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - In an abrupt shake-up prompted by the Columbia disaster, the chief of the Kennedy Space Center is being moved to another NASA installation to strengthen its engineering department for the shuttle fleet's eventual return to flight.

It's a company town, so every time something goes wrong in the shuttle program, the value of your home in Titusville or Merritt Island turns to $hit.
Maybe Bridges requested the transfer so he and his family could return to the real world.

Even with two shuttle disasters and the economy taking a hilly ride, Brevard county is doing great economically. I would move there if I could.
