Density. Gold doesnt take up much space. All the gold mined in human history amounts to about 130 thousand metric tons, an amount which would only fill about a 100 foot cube if gathered in one place. Gold masses 19,300 kg per cubic meter. A mass of 130,000 metric tons would fit in a cube only 19 meters on a side -- or about 64 feet. I just prefer a little accuracy in reporting.
