Few years back a rancher in New Mexico saw a State Trooper getting his butt whupped by some bad guy and figured he'd watch from afar through a rifle scope on an 30-06 Bolt gun. When the guy got the officers sidearm the rancher punched the bad guy in the chest, center mass, from about 400 meters away. I'll see if I can find the noooooze clipping I kept. Texasproud may know about it as it happened near Road Forks New Mexico on I-10, mid or early 90's I believe.
