==========================================

US forces in Iraq have been hunting down supporters of Saddam Hussein's fallen regime

In Balad, north of Baghdad, troops were on alert after a US tank was attacked, leading to clashes in which 27 Iraqis died

Some Iraqis say family members were killed in raids on their house during the current operation

In northern Mosul, two US soldiers were injured, one seriously when patrols came under attacks from grenades

Residents said the attacks were the work of former Iraqi soldiers trying to take revenge on the US

Several Iraqi men were arrested during the clashes

In north-western Iraq, the US military said it detained 74 al-Qaeda sympathisers in a raid

US troops have also been carrying out river patrols in an area north of Baghdad

But opposition to the US presence continues on many levels - with some imams calling for a holy war

Re: Picture #3. Instead of making me go all custard hearted, it got me wondering why the media is so reluctant about showing an American military widow. Out of kindess, I suppose.

The American military should round up the imams and shoot all the bastards. An imam is like some of our local religious leaders. The bastards won't work but piously tell everyone to work hard and tithe. I bet an imam has never done any work in his life, even to the milking of a camel. To hell with these sons-a- -----es. They are breathing air that should go to some decent person.
