But then you went to Kings Point and became a sailor.

No, I'm not her doctor - but I would suggest someone with strength to play at Disney World has enough strength to sit thru classes. What I lack in a medical degree I'm compensating for with 3 kids - all of whom are regularly too tired to do chores but have tons of strength for play.

Yeah, well - go figure. In hindsight, it was a good decision. I had scholarships to Texas A&M, Texas, Brown (of all places), and USMMA. Then senator John Tower (R-Texas) called our house and talked to me and my parents. He flew me to D.C. to meet other Senators, etc. And, I was sold.
Being a sailor is not all bad, the white uniform is very sharp!

I'm a KP grad myself (Class of 1998); that's why I was razzing you.

As long as she is classified, and she would have to be, in order to have private publicly funded tutors....then of course she took an untimed SAT.......and most likely it was monitored by one of her private tutors.......

You sound like you are fighting your daughter's battle here......give it up......the Hornstine girl was caught plagairizing articles she sent to local newspapers as her own. This shows a definite willingness to CHEAT!

Ms. Hornstine was able to waive the requirement to take GYM by virtue of her fatigue syndrome. The other student had to take GYM, which does not carry the same weight as an AP class. Hence he had a lower GPA......

The little darling also partook of the extra curricular activities of her choice and went to Florida on the class trip........

"I feel sorry for her; it's not her fault her father's a lawyer."
Yeah, but it's her fault she wants to be one, too.

"She, or most likely, her parents, wanted the honor exclusively."
That is the whole thing in a nutshell. She was not deprived of ANYTHING! She has no damages! She was named valedictorian. Her problem is she is selfish as hell, and doesn't want to share with anyone. God help her when she gets out into the real world, because such a selfish, self-centered egotist is in for a real shock (but will fit in quite nicely in Congress).

"I feel sorry for her; it's not her fault her father's a lawyer." Yeah, but it's her fault she wants to be one, too. Chronic fatigue syndrome is not going to go over well in the real world where high powered law firms expect associates to bill 2400 hours in a year. Most likely that means no going home for some nap time at 10:30 am. I doubt her work will be evaluated by special judges either nor will she get untimed deadlines with which to respond to pleadings and discovery.

Maybe Chelsea can get her on where she "works".
To: bigeasy_70118
Yeah, and just wait until she has to try a case where the judge orders it to continue no matter what. Talk about a marathon! I had one like that not too long ago, and the only break we had was for meals. The case went to the jury at 2:00 a.m., no joke. (I see by your screen name and zip code that you hail from New Orleans. I lived there for many years. My family roots go back to the mid 1800s in NOLA; my wife's go back to 1700.)

I doubt her work will be evaluated by special judges either nor will she get untimed deadlines with which to respond to pleadings and discovery. And if the partners in her law firm don't like it, gues what? . . . Lawsuit!
