>>...that Catholic bishop is finished as the bishop of Phoenix. <<

I was considering starting a resignation pool before this happened. I figured it would take 3 months to a year, but his days as bishop are really numbered now.

yeah well... somebody sprang him tonight here in phx...

It won't surprise me if he is on the next plane out of town or across the border before sunup tomorrow.
the same folks that SAW his wrecked car and did NOT turn him in immediately, are no doubt working on a plan to get him out of the jurisdamndiction of the D-A here.

Bet he never even goes to trial.
The cover up is BIG.. and I think it involves the entire hierarchy of the church... and you better believe that political favors are probably being called in wherever they can be... LOTS of secrets to be told, LOTS of folks to be blackmailed into cooperation with the coverup.

The culture is rotting... from the top down.
priest and bishops and cardinals are commiting evils that the lowly believers would never even dream of committing...

It would not surprise me if 80 percent of the college of cards is involved either by action, or by subterfuge, or by feigned ignorance, and therefore they all have been participating in the crimes of abuse and coverup.

Bet this manslaughter suspect skips town.. and bet some powerful folks help him.
WHY? Because in "metaphorical terms" he knows "where the bodies are buried" in this scandal... and he may blow the whistle if he gets cornered.

If he doesn't skip town, he may even off himself.
Keating called this "la Cosa Nostra" and I think he knew whereof he spoke...

what a mess.
