this article serves 1 purpose, distraction from the dead americans.
Actually, it serves the purpose of notifying readers of the capture of the third most wanted man in Iraq.
Hes Saddams dog-walker in the same way that Rumsfeld washes Bushs car.

I hope they actually caught him a few weeks ago, and have been giving the psychotropics and brass knuckles a workout in the interim.

of course he'll talk. All lies. Will be immediately reported by AP/CNN/NYT.
("#3 Iraqi states unequivically that there were never any WMD and that Saddam is alive and well!" and then "Saddam bitterly hated Osama and would never work with Al Qaeda, yadayadalielielie")
Then after the Barney treatment, maybe with a little (oh he11, a lot) of the Bangles, he mutters uncontrollably about where they hid the WMD and which Syrians and Saudis are involved.

always a little slow there - at least the posters.
There heads will explode when the WMD and AQ connections are fully documented. Repeat - this is ALL they have - and it will go poof! in one speech.

Typical strategy here. when americans start getting killed, things get too hostile, and all the major networks lead with the dead americans, they always, ALWAYS announce the capture of some useless iraqi to balance things out and make it look like progress is being made. this deck of cards is for idiots. Welcome to Free Republic. For the moment, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you're not one of our regular trolls.
The deck of cards was actually initially given out to soldiers during the early stages of the war as an indicator of who to look for. And this guy is hardly what I would call a "useless Iraqi".
Is it your opinion that the story is fake then?

none of the guys on the deck of cards tell you what you want to hear. And you're privy to all this, huh? I bet you and your silly little friends said the same thing when Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was captured. Ever heard of him? And then you never, in your simple little worlds, made the connection as one terrorist after another fell. Ahhh, to be a pre teen again... [reminiscing]
Hey, shouldn't you be proofreading John Edwards' tax cut proposal. Hey boys and girls, a good ol' southun boy promising a middle-class tax cut! Why, oh why, does that sound so familiar? ROTFLMAO

Maybe we should stop looking for these "deck of cards" people, pack up our bags and go home. I guess you'd rather lob a few cruise missiles from off shore, declare victory and go home instead of doing it the right way. I also think you'd rather have Iraq be taken over by the Baath party again and have the Iraqi people repressed before you risk another american life.
I know a few people in Iraq right now and even though they are scared, they know why they are there and know they are doing the right thing. Which is more than what I can say for you.
