For reasons inexplicable to most sensible Americans, in September 2002, an otherwise sensible President George W. Bush told the United Nations that the U.S. will rejoin the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), a wild-eyed bunch President Reagan abandoned in 1984, noting that it was utterly corrupt and the U.S. had no business being a member of such a group.
...
whats new this is just the UN-Man doing his UN duty.

" Most Americans are blissfully ignorant of the insidious nature of this crowd..." And herein lies the problem!
I'm amazed that this posting hasn't received more attention than it has. Do I hear snoring out there? UNESCO was identified as a Communist organization long ago. Not to be confused with UNICEF, of course. They've always been suspect as well as far as I'm concerned.

Get the US out of the UN and UNESCO!
UNESCO World Heritage sites are often chosen with strong political influences. For instance, the Taliban-destroyed former Bamiyan Buddha sculptures were not part of a World Heritage site because Afghanistan wasn't pressuring UNESCO to choose that area, but those sculptures aren't less of a part of World Heritage or less deserving of UNESCO protection than some other sites from their list, such as the 19th century "First Coffee Plantations in the Southeast of Cuba," one of the selections from 2000. I don't see how the UN or UNESCO has reformed at all.

1948 -- UNESCO president and Fabian Socialist, Sir Julian Huxley, calls for a radical eugenic policy in UNESCO: Its Purpose and Its Philosophy. He states: "Thus, even though it is quite true that any radical eugenic policy of controlled human breeding will be for many years politically and psychologically impossible, it will be important for UNESCO to see that the eugenic problem is examined with the greatest care and that the public mind is informed of the issues at stake that much that is now unthinkable may at least become thinkable."
"In order to stabilize world population, it is necessary to eliminate 350,000 people a day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it's just as bad not to say it." - Oceanographer Jaques Cousteau Published in the Courier, a publication of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)

The godless United Nations is about to meet a new America empowered by the Holy Spirit, and a God who has THE solution to a eternal new world order. Just think Moses verse Pharoah to the power of ten. We have only seen one side of the story the last forty years. The other side is about to "roar out of Zion" with His answer. "And who can stand before the Lord and His annointed?" Not the wicked, that's for sure. "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. He that believeth not shall be damned."

Bush Says 'Yes' to UNESCO
Austin Ruse
Friday, Sept. 20, 2002
Today we report on the news that the U.S. government intends to rejoin UNESCO, which it pulled out of during the Reagan era. Social conservatives will be deeply concerned over this since UNESCO, while not as bad as the U.N. itself, still supports the U.N. in promoting abortion and anti-family values around the world. Social conservatives will insist on one of their own for the U.S. UNESCO job.
The above is from one of the links you posted...
.......
Bush is not called the UN man because it isn't true he is called a UN man because its true.

Do you think it may be political posturing?
When I'm doing market research, I want to know everything my competitor is up to. Could be strategy, no?

I watched this abomination on C-Span when they brought it up for a vote to bring it before the House. UNESCO has reformed it's attitude towards the US and cleaned up it's act, they promise, don't you believe them?
Besides how is UNESCO going to restore beautiful down town Havana without US money?
To: Tailgunner Joe
Why are earth would an normally sane president go bonkers and favor rejoining UNESCO? Who in the world in his administration is advising Bush to rejoin?

As was said by Maggie Thatcher to President Bush senior. It could be said to the incumbent in the White House. I have the greatest respect for him. However..... Now don't go wobbly on me (us) George. No one, absolutely no one can buy off these rotters. Stand strong.
To: Tailgunner Joe
I think Bush should go ahead and agree with this...... IF the UN would simply apply it to Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Iran, Sudan, Yemen, India, Pakistan and China first. And if it is succesful there, then Islam disappears, and then we reject the whole thing anyway.
Why is everything started here in the USA. Perhaps cause the UN is here? Time to move th UN to Belgium. To replace the Nato HQ that WAS going to be built there.
George - ya can't agree to this!!

"Comrade Gorbachev will be traveling in the United States this year to promote the Charter. "
Perhaps he could go to Saudi Arabia and Pakistan first?? And a few other countries in the region??

" Not to be confused with UNICEF, of course."
There's another thread here tonight that rips UNICEF to shreds...... rightfully so. I'm to lazy to find it for ya, but you can do a search if you are interested.
