gonna be interesting with nextel, next year at the "Nextel" or whatever they rename the "Winston" to everyone will do the race while holding their heads cocked holding a cell phone to the ear talking to someone not at the race.

Penalty; if you drop the call, its a stop and go

dead battery, you go to the longest line.... at the red light placed on pit road

drop the phone and the pace car now equiped with red and blue lights pull you over and give you a tickit...

Jeff Gordon 4/1
Tony Stewart 9/2
Ron Fellows 5/1
Robby Gordon 5/1
Mark Martin 6/1
Kurt Busch 8/1
Scott Pruett 8/1
Bobby Labonte 10/1
Rusty Wallace 12/1
Matt Kenseth 12/1
Ryan Newman 15/1
Boris Said 15/1
Dale Earnhardt Jr 20/1

Wow, there are some great odds here. The rocket man at 15-1, he cane in 9th last year. And the kick butt man came in 4th last year and is 8-1????

I will wait until after qualifying to make my picks but I hope Jeff Gordon doesn't win. He seems like a nice guy, I like when he's on Regis and Kelly but I just don't seem to like him to win races because he has won so much and has so much, same goes for Tony Stewart. AND, as for the once in awhile drivers like Said, Pruett, Fellows no way, either you run most of the races or none at all.

Been a busy two days and it's not over yet. Grandson graduated from Junior High yesterday and his sister graduated from Eureka High today. Big dinner tonite. Grand daughter is fourth generation to graduate from Eureka High.

I'll be around from time to time but don't tell the gearheads here that I have a date for the annual home garden tour this Sunday. I will be on board about 1pm.

In this race, car reliability and expert prep(no brake failures, tranny, clutch, tricks unknown to the railbird and other crew chiefs. When you combine expert driving and shifting without a mistake for thousands of shifts, you can win this race. That narrows the field to Tony Stewart, Gordon (both "Flash" and "Crash"),Bobby Labonte, and a possible win from Rusty (skill plus PENSKE). And Mark Martin can ALWAYS win a road race. We will see Sunday, huh.

Just drove by the track on my way home from work. Traffic's a BIG mess, and it's only Friday. Avoid that area this weekend at all costs!

Couple of years ago when I drove by, the race was two hours old and there was still a five mile backup to get into the race track.

Too Late! Darn! I'm already looking to next year. :-)

Boris leads the whole race and wins by a mile.

Both Gordons spin out Marlin at least once ;-)

Should be a good one!

WoooHooo!! Yeah, Once would be enough!

I saw the start of that on some channel but I missed seeing him running the car around the course.

Hell, Crash Gordon and quite a few others are competitive in open wheels. It's just a matter of having a team to drive for with some big bucks for sponsors.

on one ofe the programs on XM Radio this week I heard that he was actively solicited by either F1 or Cart, I don't remember but when asked Gordon replied he couldn't , that he felt the ridicule of jumping between the two series' would be more that he was willing to deal with, so he kept his alliance to WinsTell Cup intact.

Also a formula one guy from a team was quoted as saying, "I saw what this guy makes... we can't afford him!"
