IN CUSTODY: Abid Hamid Mahmud al-Tikriti, left, seen with Saddam Hussein on his 65th birthday, was harbored by an Iraqi family that, according to Arab custom, refused to betray a house guest and turn him over to U.S. forces.

I find some consolation in that these big wigs have lost the life of luxury, afraid of informants and revenge. May they all suffer ulcers and discomfort until they are caught or meet their maker on the way to H*ll. Oh yeah, a thousand curses on their mustaches too....

I experienced this type of offering with my first Lebanese Christian friend.It puzzled me and sometimes embarrassed me but I soon relaxed and realized it was part of her!I know the hospitality thing sounds extreme in this case but it is real!

Among Arabs and people of Arab descent, hospitality is one of the most highly admired virtues.
