I've signed the petition eventhough I'm not sure it will do anything.

As you all probably know already this particular show is not the exception but the rule. It is only now a question of how low they would go.

Some of you here are correct when you say that we should just turn off the TV or not even have one especially if you have kids. But organizations like Parents Television Council are trying to stem the tide, even just a little, for the sake of those children who have neglectful or non-existent parents and are being raised on the filth they see on TV, movies, videogames, etc.

It has really become a very serious issue in the last few years. I grew up watching CHiPs, Knight Rider, (not the most innocent shows but still fairly clean) etc. Now, kids are watching Jerry Springer, and vile sitcoms and reality shows. God help them and God help us too because they will eventually be adults and in charge when we become old.

Not only that, but if nobody complains to the FCC or advertisers about such filth, they will think they have the green light to continue, and eventually this is all you will see on TV. Is that what they really want? An Expensive TV that they bought that they can't turn on?

It boggles my mind that they don't realize that if you don't "push the camel's nose out of the tent, it will enter completely.

Well, when you start trying to get Jerry Springer off the air let me know and I'll sign whatever I have to and write/email whoever I have to. That man needs to just disappear already.

As for the primetime comedies though, just learn to use the parental controls on the TV or don't let your kids have one in their room. The primetime shows really are meant for adults, not kids.
