THIS FAMILY IS LEAVING THIS GOLDEN STATE FOR MORE FERTILE GROUNDS
6-20-03 | LAM

Posted on 06/21/2003 8:39:31 AM PDT by fleeing Kalifornia

I have sold out the shares of my A/C company, Sold our beautiful home in Pleasanton and pulling out all investments from Kalifornia. I was born and raised in this State and have become disgusted with the way every thing has become upside down and backwards in this State. When we cross State line into Arizona on 6-24-03 you will be able to hear the door slam behind us and trust me, it won't hit us in the ass on the way out.

It's funny watching the tax&spenders of this State trying to work out the budget woes along with the recall efforts against Gray (all smoke and mirrors, Fluff and Stuff). The plan is to triple the vehicle registration fees, raise every tax that can be imagined then invent tax's that haven't been, cut school/social funding and now they have implemented a real estate tax at 3 1/3% for non-primary resident property owners efective Jan 1st 2003 (Ca tax code 593-C.) Jan. 1st 2004 will include code changes that will include primary resident property owners. Research this, We just signed off title and had to file a real estate withholding certificate form 593-C

The tax&spenders can never find spending that is un-necessary or programs with bloated budgets to cut. School budgets are slashed but the state spending keeps going up in other departments. The leftists keep coming up with more warm&fuzzy spending proposals & their friends in Sacramento raise the taxes on the workers & business's. Now employers & employee's are fleeing from this "Golden State??" to Idaho, Arizona, Texas, Utah, Oregon, Washington & Nevada leaving fewer taxpayers left to pay the growing tax burden. After the jobs have left & the workers have left, who will be left to pay the taxes? The only ones left to pay the taxes will be what's left, the "LEFT".

California may still be saved, but there is going to be a major wake up call before that happens, I am just glad we won't be here when that happens.

Too many people in California for it ever to be governed well again.

If America continues to flood itself with immigrants, legal immigrants or otherwise, there will be no escaping the liberalism that overcrowding breeds.

My family and I escaped this week. We are happy to be in Sparks, NV. I hope those left behind will succeed in recalling Gray Doofus.

I dont think there is any way to save California, the best thing we could do is to throw it out of the Union, and build a big assed electric fence and oil filled trench along the border with it to keep the masses out of the rest of the country when that ship finally sinks for good.

I was born in San Diego. I got burned out working for the Feds in Washington, DC in 1976 and we moved back to San Diego then to start a new career. I couldn't stand what had happened there (congestion, pollution, traffic, real estate costs, taxes) so after six months we pulled up stakes and moved to Phoenix. We have never regretted that and over the ensuing 27 years constantly give thanks that we didn't stay in California. Watching the State implode from this side of the Colorado River is saddening. I hope it is not a vision of the future of the rest of the country.

I left in '91 for Colorado. One of the best moves of my life. Later did some time in Georgia and enjoyed that too. Many, many better places to live than the 'golden state'. Wasn't always this way, but welcome to the 21st century.

Stay in touch with the crowd here at freerepublic.

I'm one of the few remaining conservatives in West Los Angeles, but plan to return
home to flyover country (OK,TX, or MO) as soon as possible.

Actually, I'll at least hang around to see the look on a liberal colleague's face
when he purchases a new car in the next couple of days...and realizes he's going to
be paying TRIPLE for that tag because he tarried a few weeks before doing his car shopping.

I'm going to be laughing on the inside as he relates his tale of woe.
I suspect he'll put on a brave liberal face and unconvincingly mutter
that he doesn't mind paying the extra confiscatory $$$ "for the children".

I'm jealous...the smart money is getting out...NOW. It's nothing but doom and gloom ahead...I totally believe that. Two years from now, you won't be able to recognize this place. I'm trying to convince my husband to let some other sucker buy out house. He's a native, so he's going kicking and screaming, but I'm determined to win.

Moved to Colorado Springs three years ago, and we are here to stay. When I retired from the Army in 1995, I thought we would go back...we have a lot of family there, including our son. But, we got as far as Colorado and said...Kalifornia has nothing that we are interested in...and so we are putting down roots!

Welcome to FreeRepublic. Sorry to read this... but I left many, many years ago for many of the same reasons. Be wary, though. From a distance it appears that Arizona is beginning to tilt the same way.

After the jobs have left & the workers have left, who will be left to pay the taxes?

Two words: You will.

Two more words: Feinstein; Boxer

Two more words, even: We will.

When Kalifornia declares total bankruptcy, the 2 senators and the reps will appeal to the Federal government for bailout.

So, it doesn't matter whether you flee Kalifornia or not. They'll find you where ever you go and we, the rest of the Nation, will be taxed to bail Kalifornia out.

Thanks!!!!!

Next thing you know, Bloomberg will be trying that in NYC.

Welcome to Arizona. You're moving here at a really harsh time (summer sucks!) but since you were in the A/C business, you'll love it here. Besides, we really welcome all conservatives.

Let me be one of the first to welcome you to AZ.

But, don't be too surprised if after you settle in, you begin to see some semblance of familiarity here. Many have moved from Kalifornia to this beautiful state over the last 10 years, and are slowly trying to turn it back into something they once moved away from. It's disgusting.

However, we always have a safe haven here for good Freepers. We need all the help we can get to battle the growing liberal mindset here.

And, btw, you'll do just fine if you open another A/C busniess here! :o)

Your leaving provides room for 3 more illegals. But there are no more toilets to clean or beans to pick. Thankful we have the expensive cars here for the taking not to mention the free handouts. But watch out. Your new destintion isn't immune from overspending.

Keep working on him. It took 6 years to get my wife to concede. Now she is more excited than me.
