McAuliffe in New Race Flap

Terry McAuliffe, who praised "colored people" three years ago after elbowing aside a qualified African-American rival for the post of Democratic National Committee chairman, is facing new charges that he discriminates against blacks.

Responding to questions from the Congressional Black Caucus last week, McAuliffe revealed that he has only one black political consultant on the payroll for 2004 and employed no black consultants for the 2002 campaign, reports The Hill newspaper.

"I told him that was insulting,” said Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss. "That did not go over well with our caucus."

Thompson told The Hill about a black political consultant he knew who had tried repeatedly without success to get a contract with McAuliffe's DNC.

He took his business proposal to the Republicans and they promptly signed him, the Mississippi Democrat said, adding, "The party can start acknowledging through contracts with minorities the good minorities do for the party.”

Only last month, Donna Brazile, the party's most senior African-American strategist, complained that McAuliffe's belt-tightening measures had targeted 10 employees for layoffs - all of whom were black. (See "Donna Brazile 'Outraged' as Democrats Fire Blacks".)

McAuliffe contended that he didn't know about the blacks-only dismissals and canceled the move.

The party of segregation, busing, Robert KKK Byrd, and other examples of racial tolerance strikes again.

Today Maynard Jackson, the former mayor of Atlanta, passed away. Jackson ran against McAuliffe for DNC Chairman. As usual, the Dems didn't have a place for the black guy. Instead, they try to keep blacks "in their place."

Unfortunately, the actions described in this story are typical of this racist, hypocritical party.

McAuliffe's suggestion of Trent Lott to head up organization in Alabama didn't go over very well either. :-)

Rep. Thompson doesn't even understand that his party hates him and wants to keep him and his people down.

Or maybe he does.

The Dims are hypocrites, especially McAwful.

I still suspect those announced -- and then rescinded -- firings were a way of pressuring the D.C. DemocRAT Party into postponing its primary, as I understand it proceeded to do.

Or maybe when they target blacks, they're just following their real instincts.

Blacks better hurry because the Hispanic population is growing much faster and blacks will soon be useless to the Dems. I think it's already begun.

Interesting, so "people of color" is OK, but "colored people" is not. OK, gotcha. PC-speak is laughably ridiculous, except that people take it so seriously.

Those nappy heads in the fully segregated, step-n-fetchit Congressional Black Caucus had better get in line and do exactly what they are told or Terry will sell every last one of them down the river.

Why do you think Sharpton doesn't stand a chance? Because he's black that's why and the dems would never allow a black man to head their party. MaAuliffe knows you got to treat blacks like dirt or they won't do exactly what they're told to do. How else the dems going to get 97% of the black vote except by treating them just like field hands.

If it has anything to do with x42 and 'ol crusty it is not benign. I don't recall hearing McAwful referring to "African Americans" (they insisted the correct term was "Blacks" when I was growing up) as "colored people" - I would have paid good money to be there for that!

The one thing I'm sure of is that use of the term "colored people" suggests an 'ol style racist without a clue.

GW today praised the plantation. I pray for him, but the truth is GW favors diversity over equality. Heaven help us all....

BT is my congressperson( I refuse to call him a man.)
He realy doesn't care one way or the other.
He knows he is there until he dies and he is one of the richest men in Congress. Why worry, care or bother.
