I hate to say this, but it seems that the real sicko predators prefer small to midsize towns, far from the large cities, as their victims there are far more trusting.

You're probably right. It is the same reason they play Santa, become teachers, coaches and clergy. (I'm a devout Catholic, so don't anyone take that as a shot. My point is that pervs seek out positions of trust.)
