The purpose of the Amber alert is to try to save lives.

I wonder if this little girl will be lost because of that standard.

Of course, some FReepers are so annoyed by the Amber alerts as they stand, even when an abduction is witnessed and caught on camera. Mustn't interrupt their sitcoms....

I thought that was unbelievable when I heard on TV that no Amber Alert was issued. Hello common sense. The purpose of Amber Alert is to 'alert people' about a missing child. Now we have to have an abduction? I suppose we'll have to spend more tax dollars to change this law.
