Ok. Let me start out by saying that posting these good news updates warms my heart. I almost feel like what I post day to day now CAN'T be happening, but it is (once more, isn't God awesome??!!)

That said, I get about two calls a day now from my friend. Yesterday morning, she told me that the night before, an older nurse came in to tend to Courtney. She did the usual "come on child, move your leg.. move your hand.." etc. Well, she asked her to move her toes and Courtney got a really sourpuss, "I'm not moving anything" look on her face. The nurse supposedly told her, "Now look here, MISSY, I have two teenage daughters at home and they do what I say, so you WILL MOVE YOUR TOES!!" At that point, she moved her toes!!! (But got an even more ticked-off look on her face.) The girl has an ATTITUDE!!! YAY!

Last night, I got another call that the doctors had tried to sit her up and, get this, were going to try to get her to stand in a walker to test her strength. My friend and I were puzzled about this because she had broken so many bones, but obviously none were in her legs?? Anyway, we have come to the conclusion that when she is well enough, we HAVE to meet this wonderful girl!! We are placing bets that by next week she's going to be doing cartwheels. We are just so amazed because she was in the accident 10 days ago and 7 days ago, the doctors said, "There is no hope!" They even said it in the room to her parents (right in front of Courtney.) Donna (my friend) said that from all she heard about Courtney before, that would have ticked her off enough to fight even harder and that she couldn't wait for the day that Courtney tells that doctor, "Oh YEAH??"

We prayed for baby steps, but looks like Courtney is ready to start sprinting to recovery. Thank you for all your prayers and Blessed be God forever.

Courtney's family is putting together a book of all the cards and greetings they have been getting (and yes I think they have seen print outs of this thread).. so since this seems to be becoming the "GET WELL COURTNEY THREAD," I'm going to start looking for pictures and stuff for them to add..
