What is the next step? How does this affect other lawsuits against gun manufacturers--or can we rest assured that they will never be held liable?

Juanita Scarlett, a spokeswoman for Spitzer, said, "We believe that the court misapplied certain doctrinal principles. We are considering an appeal."Right. The jerks intend to appeal based not on the obvious lack of merit for their case, but on some obscure technical detail. This case is doomed for the grabbers.

can we rest assured that they will never be held liable There is legislation that would extend protection against this sort of thing. Otherwise, it'll be just like the cigarette lawsuits -- they'll keep filing them until they either drive the gun makers out of business from the costs of constantly going to court, or they get a big win and put them out of business that way.
