PRESS "ETHICS"? WAR "SCRIPTED" *PRE-WAR*: “..a classic, Jim Carville, scorched earth campaign.”

January 6,  2003:

In coming weeks, Democratic elected officials will question the President’s intentions on the pending war with Iraq. Writers and broadcasters friendly to the Democratic cause have already been provided talking points suggesting the war is about oil, not terrorism. “The talking points were developed before the end of last year and sent out to operatives and friendly media," one Democratic consultant confided.

The talking points outline a strategy to raise public doubts of the President’s real intentions, including: --Saying the war is about oil and will be fought to benefit oil companies that have long supported Bush and the Republican party;

--Claiming the Bush administration has “manufactured” evidence against Saddam Hussein and used that evidence to encourage Britain and other allies to join the American fight against Iraq;

It is clear that the current approval ratings of the administration are tied directly to strong American feelings toward traditional values,” the talking points say. “To counter this, doubt must be raised as to America’s true position within the world community and the true intent of the Bush administration in waging war.”

--Both President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney are controlled by oil and defense industry special interest groups.

--The war on terrorism is a failure because Osama bin Laden is still at large.

--America is unprepared for another terrorist attack because of White House preoccupation with Iraq.

Democratic sources say the talking points were developed by Democratic Chairman Terry McAuliffe, former Clinton campaign strategist James Carville, Senate Majority Leader Daschle and former House Democratic Leader Gephardt.

 ***This is a classic, Jim Carville, scorched earth campaign,” crows one DNC staffer. “Take no prisoners. That’s how you win elections.” Democratic party spokesmen would not return phone calls seeking comment on this report. ***

The press-Dems are still following the script.

Post war analysis of the DNC war plan:

Clintons lie.

Today's Democratic Party cannot be trusted with our national security or classified intel.

The mainstream PRESS is a DNC PR agent. Case closed (Just stop it, AL).

Left-press Disconnect from Reality re. war explained: UNDERMINING OUR TROOPS IN IRAQ, LYING ABOUT AMERICA WAS INTENTIONAL AND PRE-MEDITATED.

Proof the Dems. are choosing to weaken America on the world stage for partisan political purposes during wartime.

Ann Coulter is right.

This is the same type of strategy that has taken the Democrats from total control of the US government to a whining minority coalition of special interest groups. The DNC is trying to hit a home run every time instead of building a broad and popular political foundation. My prediction is they will continue to flounder.

RC, all those points are dead-on, but there's one dead-on point you forgot:

The GOP will cave in as always, and they will lose in 2004.

DC is toxic. Our elected officials get an earful from full-time leftist activists daily while those on the right are busy minding their own business. On top of that, Tommy Daschle can say anything without being held accountable while our side, even the tough and 'saintly' Tom DeLay gets nothing but negative press - if that.

Talk radio, FN and the net are giving us a voice, but the left still determines the week's lead story, and we fall for the left-press's old divisive games and fight each other while they boldly pledge allegiance to the EU-UN, sell out our military during wartime and not a peep from OUR press.

Our guys willing to fight in that arena sewer need our support.
