And, with that "say", and the influence of N.O.W., she's decided that a whole host of things rank above her husband. Objective attained.

It's even worse when you have four. My wife passes out on the sofa watching "Quincy", and I get shoved to the edge of the bed by up to three children almost every night.

Husband and wife get ready to turn in for the night. Husband brings a glass of water and an apirin and puts it on his wife's nightstand.

"I don't have a headache"... the wife whines.

"I know.." answers the husband... "it's for the one you are going to get after I turn out the lights".

What's he to do? Cheat on her? Demand more? (Yea, right, like that'll work.) Divorce her, lose his kids, look shallow and possibly go against his belief that marriage is for life?

Me either.

We have a 7 month old baby boy and a 3 year old manchild/hellion but we do alright. My wife is my greatest blessing and I think she feels the same and that blessing has produced 2 children that we adore..(usually)...it's the only kind of life I know anymore.

I'm way lucky and grateful to G-d seriously. I do know a fair number of once passionate couples who've sort of become just buddies.

Young children do tire a stay at home mom....there is no doubt about that...and working moms have their hands full too.

My advice is to ditch the video and hit the rack earlier.

If afterwards, a night owl like me is still awake...there's always FR or World Series Poker on the Travel Channel...lol

Article said >>...have sex no more than 10 times a year,<<
Zip said >>...poll at the local retirement village<<

I'm 44 Mrs. NerdDad is 40. Been married nearly 22 years. I'd estimate that we've had sex more than 10 times a year in fewer than 10 of those years. Most of that is for the reasons expressed in the article and comments above. Too busy, too tired, too broke, too worried, too fat, etc., etc., etc.
Signed, Too Frustrated.

For the most part, that is the only option for decent men: Sacrifice your sex drive for the family. Of course, being only human eventually some of these guys break and it ain't pretty.

Usually a few months after the last kid moves out they realize they really don't like this woman who has been shutting them out for 20+ years and kick her to the curb.

Men are supposed to be the bad behavers but when it comes to relationships, every statistic shows that women are worse.

>>>>>>When our kids were little they were in bed by 9:00PM or sooner which left plenty of time. Now at 16&12 they stay up so late it's damn near impossible to do anything.<<<<<<

I have 19, 16 and 12 year old boys. During the summer, they are all up later than we are. In the old days we had "Smurf" sex....sex while the boys watched the Smurfs cartoons......currently, now we end up trying to sneak it in at night and end up doing a lot of flying dismounts when we hear them. I leave early for work each day and .....well.....this is a problem for us.

I am always willing to try new places, positions and locations, but my wife is a bit more modest about the car and outdoors.....mrs. irish guard is great, don't get me wrong, but it seem like our boys are always around when the spirit moves us.

I think that this reporter has a problem and is just drumming up support (real or otherwise) because it's a slow news cycle.

This may sound like bragging, but hubby and I have relations way more than 10 times a year and we are middle-aged with a fifteen-year-old son who likes to stay up late!!!

A few years ago, a relative of mine mentioned to me that she and her husband were not doing much in that department. Seems that her dance classes, son's hockey team, chauffering their elementary-age kids about, and school volunteering was wearing her down.

I set her straight and said that if she didn't do something quick about the situation, her husband would find someone who would! I told her to at least make a date a few times a month and get herself in the mood--pronto. She called me back some months later and said that things had definitely improved. Her hubby loved the extra attention. Well, duh.

I don't give a rip if some people think that women shouldn't instigate or at the least try to improve physical relations between their husbands and themselves. If they don't do it, there may be some other woman waiting in the wings to do it. I saw at least one relationship wherein the husband--no great physical or wealthy specimen--found a sympathetic ear and warmer bed. Ladies, get yourself in the mood. Your hubby WILL appreciate it.

Oh, and it would help if some of you guys picked up a smelly sock and tossed it into a laundry hamper now and then in the bedroom. ;)

If that was really the case for you, you wouldn't be frustrated. Nobody is frustrated by not doing things they don't feel like doing.
