I don't understand. Can a state compel an individual to obtain a state-issued ID for purposes of voting in an election? This thread is hung up on the fact that she's a dem and wants pandered votes, so what else is new.

Unless, perhaps AZ is different, and we here in CA live more free than you folks. You can't get an ID in this state without a signature, and a signature can't be compelled. Perhaps the world has gone completely nuts and I should just give up.

Hmm. As I note in post #45, one must sign off on the voter registration rolls here in AZ before being given a ballot. Same was true in Wisconsin when I lived and voted there. Don't you have to sign in at the polling place so they have a record that you voted?

I would imagine that the vast majority of Americans already have some type of state-issued ID card. How can an American get through life without an ID card? How would a person cash a paycheck or cash a welfare check without an ID card? How would a person apply for a job without an ID card? How would a person rent an apartment without an ID card? Unless a person is homeless and living under a bridge somewhere, I would expect them to already possess an ID card.

How else can we address voter fraud? I register voters, and we're not allowed to ask for ID to register. I believe THIS is the problem that needs to be addressed, and then with the voter ID, the legitimacy of the registered voter would be verified.

People in Arizona are very frustrated with Butch. She has issued multiple exec orders that bypass the legislature. She's another Hillary; she thinks she's a queen.
