My brother and I both have the Prothrombin 20210a mutation, factor II that causes clotting.
My bro almost died last year, but, working for a hematology lab, had the sense to ask if he could get a test because of pain in his leg.
Saved his life.
He's on cumaden now and will be for the rest of his life.
I have to go for genetic counseling (maybe I'll make that appointment now.)

My sister had a clot that was life threatening many years ago. She's fine today. She teaches school, sails, and loves to travel. She made one change in her life -- when she's on a long trip she makes an effort to walk around every hour or so.

Please keep the prayers coming at light speed and for the complete pain and clot to be gone out of my body. I am expected to have pain for at least another 6 or 7 weeks since the clot is in a vein in my lung still. The body is dissolving it. Anyone on here with personal stories or advice and what my life will probably be like from now please feel free to add your comments and thoughts.

FR is like another family for me and I so appreciate again the words and prayers...work is yet to be done but I have a completely different outlook and feeling on this sweet miracle of life.
