"Ireland invigorated and inspired me, and I wished we could bottle up the good feelings and take them back home." It's been done before. LOL! Gotta love P.J.

She has lunch with Jackie Onassis, who "cautioned me that Bill, like President Kennedy, had a personal magnetism that inspired strong feelings in people. She never came out and said it, but she meant that he might be a target." Was Jackie talking about the grassy knoll or about a different kind of mons? Wow! That's gotta hurt. She better put some ice on that...

It actually reminded me of the diaries of Capt. John Smith, the founder of Jamestown, VA, who wrote soaring, noble, and captivating tales about the bravery of... Capt. John Smith, in the third person.

I'm assuming this is where she learned the phrase, "F**king Jew B*st*rd." I doubt it. That's the kind of comment picked up at the family dinner table as a child.

The Alpha-dork husband, the super-twerp wife, and the hyper-wonk vice president--together with all their mega-weenie water carriers, such as vicious pit gerbil George Stephanopoulos and Eastern diamondback rattleworm Sidney Blumenthal--spent eight years trying to make America nothing to brag about."
......and were extremely successful in doing.

I've started reading Ann's book as well.
There's more fascinating stuff in Ann's first chapter than all of hellary's book.
The Alger Hiss story is remarkable!

One snowy nightduring my freshman year, ... We walked from tree to tree through knee-high snow under a clear sky filled with stars,... Good catch. It's too bad that PJ missed this. ('course I did too when I read his review.)

We must understand her sense of humor: "No one can make me laugh the way Bill does." Just like the time Bill told her he was boinking Monika..........that must have been a gut splitter ;-)

Thank you PJ and Pokey78. I knew this would be a piece of crap, but it takes someone with a strong stomach to find bits like "we had intimate private dinners with local dignitaries." to show what a waste this book is to history or to anyone but a money grubbing coward's wife.

And I believe 14 people either plea-bargained or were convicted for their roles in this scam. Nothing? I don't think so.

Priceless, classic O'Rourke! While I did think that this was a great read, we should realize that Hillary furnishes many easy opportunities to produce great sarcasm, and PJ probably did not have to work very hard at writing this. Consider this excerpt from Maureen Dowd's review in tomorrow's NYT:
Bill is bookended in history by Monica's plea to him in a note: ''I need you right now not as president, but as a man'' and Hillary's explanation of why she stuck with him: ''As his wife, I wanted to wring Bill's neck. But he was not only my husband, he was also my president.'' It makes you wonder whether Hillary would have forgiven Bill if he were merely her United States trade representative.
Even the editors have an easy time. It's not on the 'net version but the printed Book Review contains this subtitle to The Real History:
It's still out there hiding among the multitude of unreal ones. ML/NJ
