You are so right - and Bush ignores them because they are not "loyal". At least not to the extent Bush requires (whether that's good or bad - I'm not arguing the issue). Bush has his measuring stick for people - loyalty.
It's obvious why Bill Kristol is out in the cold - he supported McCain. I don't know what the deal is with Jack Kemp, or Paul Weyrich - but they tend to be wishy washy - which Bush is not.
Bush is never against people who disagree with him - I think he relates public disagreement with him as a loyalty issue - but if you keep it private, he considers your opinion valuable.

Kristol is an undisciplined loose cannon. Kemp as a politician, makes a great football player. He is an idiot. Weyrich believes his own press. None of them inspire confidence because their first words are for the media and intended for maximum attention to THEM.
The Bush White House is the most disciplined ever, and it drives the Media nuts because they get no attributable leaks. Every quote comes without a name, making it suspect at best.
