Following is a translation of the cease-fire statement issued by Hamas and Islamic Jihad:

In the name of Allah the Merciful, the Compassionate

STATEMENT OF INITIATIVE

Out of our desire for the unity of the Palestinian ranks at this dangerous phase which our people and our cause are going through, and in order to protect our national unity achieved through the intifada and the resistance and documented by the blood of the martyrs, and as our contribution to consolidating Palestinian national dialogue on the basis of adherence to the rights of our people, and in order to protect our internal front from the danger of schism and confrontation, and in order to prevent the enemy from having any excuse to wreck it, and in an assertion of the legitimate right to resist the occupation as a strategic option until the end of the Zionist occupation of our homeland, and until we achieve all our national rights, and in response to efforts by many in the Palestinian and Arab arena who care about the unity of the Palestinian national ranks, we declare the following initiative:

A. Suspension of the military operations against the Zionist enemy for three months, effective today, in return for the following conditions: 1. An immediate cessation of all forms of Zionist aggression against our Palestinian people including incursions, demolitions, closures and sieges on cities, villages and refugee camps. This includes the siege imposed on President Yasser Arafat, house demolitions, bulldozing of agricultural land and assaults against land, property and Christian and Islamic holy sites, especially the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque. In addition, the immediate cessation of all individual assassination operations, massacres, all arrests and deportations against our people, leaders, cadres and fighters. 2. The release of all prisoners and detainees, Palestinian and Arab, from occupation prisons without condition or restriction and the return to their homes, first and foremost of those who have spent long periods and those with lengthy sentences, women, children, the sick and elderly.

B. In the event that the enemy does not heed these conditions and commitments, or breaches any of them, we see ourselves unencumbered by this initiative and we hold the enemy responsible for the consequences.

Signed, Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement) Islamic Jihad

and in an assertion of the legitimate right to resist the occupation as a strategic option until the end of the Zionist occupation of our homeland, and until we achieve all our national rights,

In english = we will continue to committ terrorism as long as Israel exists.

This is a bunch of crap coming from terrorists and we are buying it. They are pinned down and we are letting them just time to regain strength and arming some of them as well (the PA-PLO).

2. The release of all prisoners and detainees, Palestinian and Arab, from occupation prisons without condition or restriction and the return to their homes, first and foremost of those who have spent long periods and those with lengthy sentences, women, children, the sick and elderly.

So they want Israel to release all the terrorists from prison? Also, they are using propaganda here saying they are different then Arabs, even though they are Arabs. What will happen if Israel doesn't release all their terrorist buddies?

B. In the event that the enemy does not heed these conditions and commitments, or breaches any of them, we see ourselves unencumbered by this initiative and we hold the enemy responsible for the consequences.

Oh....What conditions and commitments didn't Israel follow for the murder of the thousands before this deal? Being on the map.

What policy is the US supposed to be pursuing?

"With such an enemy, no peace treaty is possible, no policy of containment or deterrent will prove effective -- the only way to deal with this threat is to destroy it completely and utterly, and President Bush is absolutely determined to do just that." VP CHENEY May 2003.

Not when it comes to Israel where we need to buy off the good will of our Saudi "friends" and keep Blair politically stable.

I sometimes feel that I am insane. This is one of those times.

If the rest of the World is right, I'm crazy.

The headlines this morning is "good news" from the MidEast. All the Sunday talk shows are discussing this truce.

Is it me? Am I the only one crazy or am I one of the few who remain sane.

Truce was not the aim of the war against terrorism, in any event,

THERE IS NO TRUCE

B. In the event that the enemy does not heed these conditions and commitments, or breaches any of them, we see ourselves unencumbered by this initiative and we hold the enemy responsible for the consequences.

This is the terrorists giving Israel terms of surrender leaving themselves the right to open fire at any given time of their choosing.

There is no truce.

But the White House sees a truce and considers it good.

The media sees a truce and considers it good.

Is there some medicine I can take to cure myself from my irrational thoughts so that I could see the "truths" the rest of the World see?

"Blair politically stable"

Doing harm to Israel has not helped Blair.

He's in trouble at home.

Maybe there is a correlation.

Maybe Bush should take heed.

This amounts to little more than a Declaration of Excuses to Continue Killing Jewish Civilians, et al...

These people are not fools; they know us and our folly better than we know them and their fury.

Expect more killing...

NOw is the time for Israel to strike!

One notes that in this "cease fire" notice there is not one word indicating any interest in peace with the "zionist entity". This "cease fire" is only to bolster and consolidate the internal stresses and cracks in the PA and assorted organizations. After the time indicated.......the deluge.
