The prime movers behind the actual unrest ( MARISM ) were RED DIAPER BABIES all, except for Tom Hayden. The vast majority of the " leaders " of SDS were likewise. They also helped the Black Panthers with funds, advice, and support, even though the Black Panthers were nothing but a violent street gang of thugs. But then, they were thought to be just " useful idiots ",as Paul Robson was to those in the old USSR.
Involving blacks and other minorities ( including poor whites; though THAT never really worked here ), is not only directly out of Saul Alinsky's " RULES FOR RADICALS", but a MARIST/COMMUNIST tact from the very beginnings. Emma Goldman used it too.
David Horowitz spilled the beans, in his many books, but especially in " RADICAL SON ".
Myself, having lived through the period and aware, knew in my gut what was behind many of these things. Horowitz just confirmed my assumptions. Unfortunately, most people were and still are unaware of the facts. We should learn them ALL and then spread the word. No one else is going to inform the populace.
