Child sex claim aboard UN ship
02jul03
THE UN is investigating reports that underaged Thai prostitutes smuggled into East Timor were conducting trade in a ship used as a dormitory for peacekeepers.
The charge, made over the weekend in the Portuguese weekly Expresso, follows months of investigations by UN and Timorese authorities of a new surge in prostitution in the island nation.
At issue is whether UN personnel are engaging in prostitution and whether the alleged prostitutes were forced into service and transported to Timor against their will.
"Stern warnings were issued to staff about behaviour," said David Wimhurst, UN peacekeeping department spokesman.
Mr Wimhurst said he knew nothing about activities ship mentioned in Expresso, which accused UN police officers of covering up abuses. The investigation is continuing.
And these are the people we were supposed to go crawling on our knees to, begging for their permission to liberate Iraq?
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!.....yer kidding, right?
FMCDH
It's a good thing they weren't engaged in global warming or they might have arrested them. Abuse children and they get a slap on the wrist.
Is this new wording for child prostitution??? Gees....nothing like having an elephant in the room!
Precisely:
Child sex book given out at U.N. summit
massive sexual abuse of children in Africa
UN cash for accused Nazi (Waldheim got 4,1 million)
'War Crimes' Fear For British Troops. Well, they wanted the World Court Didn't They?
A U.N. euphemism for raping children.
