"This the letter I sent to Wal-Mart in response to their new policy."

Good for you. I'm calling their PR department tomorrow.

You just ruined my dinner.

I've heard Wal-Mart does not advance their female employees at the same rate they do the male advancment. Can you enlighten me? I find this hard to believe what with Ms. Clinton being so involved in their beginning.

Walmart has run every "dime store" out of most towns and cities. They have monopolized the market till there is hardly any other choice but Walmart. KMart has closed in our area... Target is still here. But the Walmart stores are always crowded.

Yep, they are so crowded, nobody goes there anymore. How dare they create such a popular place. Most KMarts were dumps, anyway.

She said that while investors like Pride Foundation had a role in the decision, the most important factor was a letter to senior management officials about six weeks ago from several gay Wal-Mart employees, saying that unless the company changed its policy the employees would "continue to feel excluded."

I'm taking a guess that is code for .. do something or I'll sue the pants off you?

The K Mart close to me packed it up about a year ago. The lot is now full of trash and the building is empty.

In other words, it hasn't changed a bit.

I don't think so. If WalMart goes out of business, it won't be because you and I and a few Freepers took our dollars elsewhere. The truth is, most Wallys are supported by slow-moving obese people who like the hours and the prices and the variety and are frankly a little too numb to rear up and say, I ain't shopping at no store that gives 'em people special treatment! Not that we're saying that, per se. It's about the marketing, it's about the prices, it's about the buying habits. Name all the giant supermarket chains, okay? Who sells more groceries than ANY chain in the country? WalMart, that's who. Your Wally shoppers are out there laying in supplies at the best prices they know of, and most people don't give a hoot about the (perceived) politics of a place. Seriously.

And of course WalMart is just jumping on the me-too bandwagon.

But you know, this is one of those times when I'd love to be wrong: Wally also caters to customers who want their Cosmos covered, because the covers are too racy, and record companies produce special-edition of sanitized CDs by many artists so they can get distribution in WalMart. Ya never know.

Off topic-- I just read your profile page. I had to reread the last two lines of the first paragraph several times before I finally got it. The way the margins were, I kept reading it like "U.N." was at the end of the sentence!

And I might add that I fully agree that the U.N. does what you say it does!

Gays are predators. Period.

Look what they're doing to our society. They won't quit. Even when they're ahead like in the last week.

"Most KMarts were dumps, anyway."

They were still popular with women who didn't know the names of their children's father.

Thanks for the ping ILMH.

This WalMart announcement made me think of this thread I pinged you all on yesterday: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/938971/posts

Someone on that thread made a comment that Canada had not protested the Gay Marriage laws because it would have been a hate crime (don't quote me...this is a reference).

So since the gay marriage movement failed at the top...they are now starting from the 'bottom, up'. This will make it easier for when they can get back in power to have the ammendment changed.

No doubt that Wal-Mart's days are numbered.

LOL, get a grip. Wal-Mart has a virtual monopoly on trailer trash.

"Walmart has run every "dime store" out of most towns and cities...They didn't have to do this... totally unnecessary... and totally too politically correct. Makes NO sense."

Yeah. Dirty Capitalists...

"Well, see, now I'm all conflicted. I despise Wal-Mart for completely different reasons and avoid shopping there."

Consider this a bonus to validate your good sense in not shopping there.
