[history]
It might seem as you have been hearing this for weeks, but the Davis recall folks now officially say that they have submitted the minimum amout of signatures to force an election.
Of course not even they believe that 924,000 names are enough to give them the cushion they need after the invalid signatures are thrown out.

There are some theories that the Dims are going to try and sue to stop the election until March.

Of course not even they believe ... The snotty tone of this comment betrays the author's bias.

So 1.3M is a whopping 40%(+) buffer. So the dems won't even try to win on the 10% threshold factor. Going to have to be some sort of court ruling by one of the judges owned by the DNC to throw the whole encillada out on some clever finding of fact...

There are some theories that the Dims are going to try and sue to stop the election until March. I'd certainly proceed on that assumption until proven differently. At a minimum, Secretary of State Shelley will be defending himself in court over his advice to the country registrars that they didn't have to report continuously when clearly the law says otherwise. No telling yet what else they're going to pull, but being in thrall to the plaintiff's bar means they have a legion of lawyers at their beck and call to try to derail the recall effort.

Well, after we recall Davis, we can recall that political hack, Shelley. I still have my e-mail waiting to resend as he shut down his e-mail last weekend and it bounced back to me.
It is time to send a message to Sacramento - WE ARE MAD AS HELL AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANY MORE!!!

after the invalid signatures are thrown out.If , after a sample of signatures is verified,
If the verified total dips below the 110 percent threshold, then every signature will be checked by the counties
Gosh, if only election officials put forth this kind of effort in pursuit of valid signatures and valid voters during regular elections.

Shhhhhh. I heard a rumor. If the recall looks like it's successful for the ballot, Gray Davis will resign, thus making the recall effort all for nothing, and putting Bustamante in charge which is even worse than "Gay" Davis. (Don't tell anyone.

Seems like I heard somewhere that California law says there is a point in time at which the recall must go forward. Him resigning would make no difference. I'm not sure at what point that was though.

even worse than "Gay" Davis... Is Davis Gay? I am going to email him the link to MONSTER.COM's new DIVERISTY site strickly for gays, lesbian, minorites, etc. (No whites need apply here for these jobs. (called DIVERSITY.MONSTER.COM. )
With options of re-call or re-sign...he'll need it.

I wouldn't call that all for nothing. Greyout is officially finished in politics(remember, before the energy crisis, he had his eye on the White House
shudder. Bustamante taking over means another RAT will get thrown to the wolves over the mess they made of the state. The entire budget mess is an albatross that will hang around the neck of every RAT pol in California next year, from the Presidential nominee, to Barbara Boxer, to dogcatcher.
They made the bed, let them sleep in it.

Don't get your hopes up, the DemocRats haven't even started the court fights yet.

No telling yet what else they're going to pull, but being in thrall to the plaintiff's bar means they have a legion of lawyers at their beck and call to try to derail the recall effort.I support the recall but I am absolutely certain that the petition will be invalidated somehow by some CA judge or there will be other legal BS that will kill it. Davis and his goons will not let this happen and will go to every extreme to prevent a recall.

Seems like I heard somewhere that California law says there is a point in time at which the recall must go forward. Him resigning would make no difference. I'm not sure at what point that was though. Someone said that once the petition process starts, it is too late for this type of tap dance. At any rate, once sufficient signatures are submitted to qualify the recall to the ballot, the election will be held. If Davis resigns, Bustamante would only be governor until the special election, at which time the person receiving the greatest number of votes becomes governor.
To: Saundra Duffy
Bad yes, if it happens, Grey will never resign, his ego won't allow it. If he does and Bustamante takes over what you going to get is the continued melt down of the Socalist Party in Kali. The Blacks Hate the Hispanics, speaking as an outsider it will be fun to watch.
