1. Childish feel good legislation. The ban didn't outlaw a single weapon. It mearly stopped the manufacturing of those firearms.
2. All gun control laws are aimed at the law abiding citizen and not one stops crime.
3. The anti-gun crowd couldn't pass the law without lying to the average citizen which firearms were to be banned. The anti-gun crowd shouldn't be rewarded by continuing the ban.
4. The sunset was timed to end just before the 2004 elections. If the anti-gun politicians want to keep their offices, they should sunset the ban.
5. Any and all gun control is unconstitutional.

1. Childish feel good legislation. The ban didn't outlaw a single weapon. It mearly stopped the manufacturing of those firearms. It didn't even do that. You can still buy a brand new Vepr or Saiga. They are high capacity weapons make in Russia and come in a variety ranging from .223 to 12 ga. The Saigas are about $200.
