Thank you! I have been concerned about her being totally "under" more than anything else, due to her age. Your information is reassuring beyond words, and I appreciate it VERY much. I haven't been able to sit still and concentrate long enough to do my own homework on this tonight. Monday is my little one's birthday, and we're busy rearranging everything for tomorrow instead :)

My prayers for your mother and a successful procedure. My mother just celebrated her 80th birthday recently. On a professional note, while no medical procedure is risk free, pacemaker insertion is technically one of the easiest procedures we do. If you have an experienced cardiologist she should be just fine.

Prayers certainly..... Never been in a hospital and 81 years old, I would say she is probably pretty tough stuff! I hope and pray for the very best.... They are getting pretty good at fixing hearts, there is much reason to be hopeful.

I too, add my prayers for your mom's continued well-being and the successful completion of her medical procedure.
My mom received her pacemaker about 18 months ago, along with a couple of new "stents" (mechanical heart valves).
Aside from having to take a lot of medications, and maintaining the pacemaker, ( done over the phone ) she is doing well.
My mom didn't really want to "worry" anyone about her condition either, and getting the facts was like pulling teeth.
Luckily, I have 6 sisters, a couple with nursing background, and they were able to ascertain what was going on, and keep us all on an even keel during that time.
Faith in God and Love for your mom are the best medicine and therapy.

May God hold you and your family close to Him and provide His healing power to your mother and her doctors and nurses, in Jesus' name.
