Why does the vertical axis on that graph appear inverted? The bottom reads "100,000," while the mark toward the top reads "1000." How is this graph read?

It's ranking not hits. So FR is now 800 something in order of popularity, MOO goes between 2,000 and 100,000.
I'm not sure about the money angle, I don't think the site generated the money, probably wealthy sposors.

The graph shows how many sites have more traffic. Thus smaller numbers are better.
