Why should the Turks want me dead?
Hurriyet ^ | 7/9/2003 | Faruk Zabci

Posted on 07/09/2003 5:45:41 AM PDT by a_Turk

After the Turkish special forces team based in Suleymaniye had been detained and subsequently released under suspicion of plotting to assassinate him, the Kurdish governor of Kirkuk, Abdurrahman Mustafa, brke his silence for the first time for the Turkish daily Hurriyet. He expressed his disbelief with the words: "Why should Turkey want me dead?"

In response to Hurriyet's question "Do you have a statement regarding the detention of the Turkish special forces" the governor replied: "I haven't got a clue what's going on! I haven't been given any information." Yet it seemed impossible that a governor who was contantly with US officers, and who had just finished a meeting with one as this journalist entered the room, was uninformed.

I still think the most likely scenario is that we intercepted communications leading us to believe that that's what Turks were up to and therefore why we seized them.

Turks slaughtered 1.5 million Armenians and 500,000 Pontian Greeks. So keep your "mythological" bull to yourself Turk.

Funny how you blame the Greeks and Armenians for your political/military blunders. I assure you though, since March of this year, looking at your spats with the U.S and the EU flat out rejecting you (again), we cannot help but laugh at you.

No problemo. Happens to me all the time, except I tend to skip a word even more often. Brain working faster than fingers. :)
