I think this article is valuable because it shows that the middle portion of the crank call was simply in-audible. It wasn't "dumped" (deleted), it was just in-audible. Clearly the crank caller got all of what he wanted to say on the air but due to his (probably) bad phone connection, some of it wasn't intelligible.
Savage just went off on him because he's an angry person filled with hate. The call clearly didn't contain a death threat, so what Savage said was uncalled for. I'm glad to see him off the air because he only gives conservatives a bad name. I hope many of my fellow conservatives can now see that, and stop listening to his radio show too. I don't care how "right" (correct) he is on any issue; you have zero credibility in my book if you wish death on someone else just because of a disagreement in politics, or for a crank call.

The 7 second delay allowed censors to edit out the caller's remarks. They weren't inaudable; they were deleted. Why would you think there has been no publication of those comments? They surely were captured on tape.

glad to see him off the air because he only gives conservatives a bad name. Invalidates your analysis or any objectivity you could claim.
Best for you to just keep your mouth shut.

I am not a big talk radio fan but my husband likes to listen to them all, and when the kids are with him, and I am not, they get an earful. I never listened to Michael Savage until last week - I thought it was so over-the-top and abusive that I had my hands over my ears trying to keep it out. I think it's really inappropriate for children, and have asked my husband not to expose the younger son to it. He informs me that the younger son loves Michael Savage.
Savage reminds me of those guys that go nuts and start shooting up the place, like the guy who went ape at the Lockheed Martin plant in Meridian, MS. Just full of rage.

I've occasionally caught Savage on the radio when he was still on ABC in NYC. I'll admit he made me cringe a few times, and for that reason I never became a regular listener. I got the impression he was trying to emulate Howard Stern in terms of shock value with a different subject matter.

What Savage said...it's about the same sort of things I've been shocked to hear
in a few unguarded moments from some of my more liberal, Democratic academic colleagues.
Of course he shouldn't have said it.
It was mean-spirited.
And if anyone knows that folks in his demographic are constantly monitored
for any comment that can be called "hate speech", it should be Michael Savage.
Every adult needs to understand.
Not only can a "paper trail" hang you out to dry...so can a "voice trail".

Good then I expect to hear a campaign from you to get not only Michael Savage's radio show cancelled but Nina Totenberg's as well. After all, Nina is even on taxpayer supported public broadcasting.
