Publishers Weekly has already declared 2003 a banner year for conservative books. But after the upcoming fall season, they may have to revise the hype.
Liberals, who think there are already too many books by conservative writers on the bestseller lists, should brace themselves for whats coming.
Suddenly, conservative authors are mainstream. Crown Books and Penguin Putnam have started their own conservative imprints, while Warner Books plans to aggressively market new books by writers with proven anti-liberal credentials, including Bernard Goldbergs Arrogance: Rescuing America from the Media Elite, coming in November.
The trend started more than a decade ago with Alan Blooms long-running bestseller The Closing of the American Mind, published by Free Press, one of the first New York publishers to go after conservative titles. Now that they all are, some traditional conservative publishers, like Washingtons Regnery Publishing, are starting to feel the heat.
But Regnery isnt backing down. We know the market better than New York and we work harder to publicize our books, said Marji Ross, president of Regnery.
And this fall Regnery is going back to the man who helped put it on the map: former President Bill Clinton. In October, look for Legacy: Paying the Price for the Clinton Years, by Rich Lowry, editor of National Review.

Oddly enough, the displays of Hillary's books are usually full, and perfectly arranged (why, you could say "untouched"). But Ann's displays (if there are any) are usually half empty, with someone standing there paging through the book (smiling).
But ... I'm sure Hillary deserves to be #1 on the NYT bestseller list.
True... and they have the right to do it ..and they have the right to loose sales an go out of business ...and that fair...the free market is the truest vote
Now if the positions were reverse the left would demand the government do something with force of law
