CHICAGO (Reuters) - Coca-Cola Co. KO.N said on Friday the U.S. Attorney's office for the Northern District of Georgia has initiated an investigation into allegations by a former Coke employee who has accused the company of deceptive marketing and accounting practices. Ex-employee Matthew Whitley also said in his $44 million wrongful dismissal lawsuit that the company's frozen beverage machines cause contamination.
Atlanta-based Coca-Cola, which has said in the past that there was no evidence to support the contamination claim, said Friday it will cooperate with the investigation.
