Do you think that the Dems are being set up again? That is my sense of it all. Did you know that Tony Blair is making a speech before a joint session of Congress next week? Do you think he's just popping in to say "hi"?
Could ABC underplay this part of Blair's travels anymore than this?
I don't think so!

Blair to visit US, east Asia next week
British Prime Minister Tony Blair is to embark on a marathon diplomatic mission on two continents next week, passing through Washington on his way to east Asia, his spokesman said.
Mr Blair, whose popularity at home has been flagging in the wake of the Iraq war, is to leave London next Thursday for talks with US President George W Bush and will make a speech to a special joint session of Congress.
From Washington, Mr Blair will fly on to Tokyo, and spend most of the weekend in the Japanese capital before proceeding to South Korea's capital Seoul on Sunday.
The Prime Minister will also visit Beijing for his second trip to mainland China since he took office in 1997.
He will later go on to Shanghai and Hong Kong before returning home July 24.

Wilson had reported the McAuliffe story during Special Report, today hosted by Tony Snow.
When Snow kicked off the roundtable he recounted it and they all cracked up. Fred Barnes was especially terrific.

It was funny. I can just picture McAuliffe doing this.

How soon people forget that Tenet is a FOB and Clinton appointee.

Well, actually, Terry was on John Gibson's show in the 5:00 Eastern time slot. The Tenent statement and then the WH statement were released after McAwful went off the the air. IMHO, Terry was reacting, in frustration, to the hammering his little set-up was taking.

If you've had children, you will think back to times when you just knew they couldn't help themselves, and would reveal that they had been lying to you. This is how it looked when McAuliffe took part in the pannel. He held it together alright, but couldn't resist making up for it on the outside of the building. Little did he know it would be on air within minutes. LOL
To: A Citizen Reporter
That could have played into it. Poor guy. LOL
To: Pokey78
Nope.

Do you think that the Dems are being set up again? Yes I do. I think that Bush is goading the Dems into offering up stupid quotes that will later be used against them. They know that the Dems want revenge for Clinton's impeachment, so why not keep them angry and off balance?
I think we are soon going to get a huge report on found WMDs that will be devastating to the Dems.

So to summarize:
- I'm responsible not the president
- Niger denied in 2001 any illicit diversions (not surprising)
- Britain concluded in 2002 that there had been attempts to procure uranium
- There were 6 reasons for believing Saddam was pursuing a nuclear program and buying uranium from Africa was not one of the six.
- It was an unimportant bit of info that most of the time we ignored.
- The report was factually correct.
- But we hold ourselves to an even higher standard.
- That something so unnecessary and unimportant made it into the speech is troubling.

Bush said exactly that in the State of the Union address. He said that the British "learned" of Saddam seeking uranium in Africa. Blair stands by that report till this day. This is really a tempest in a teapot drive by Dem demogogs.

Tenet took the heat as a professional. If the president has confidence in him, he should get to keep his job. Instead, let's fire every other government employee who is a Clinton appointee. I suspect that many of those people are still problems.
