Obviously you are not thinking deeply on this and it sounds more like a gut reaction.
Nobody in the middle east and a lot of other countries especially undemocratic countries like Russia, China, North Korea, Cuba, South America and Africa, (actually the list could go on all night), got into power by being nice guys.
Its just done a little less brutally in the western countries. Just look at Ariel Sharon, he does not have clean record.
You see in the middle east and lot of countries around the world they respect power, or fear it, but either way if play the nice guy you get crushed, instaniously. (Rabin, Sadat, as well as countless others around the world).
So support Dhalan, for what ever your reasons, as if he loses, then the extremists will win and we know what they are capable of, however Dahlan if he is trying to crush these people, should be taken at his word and given the benifit of the doubt.
Ariel Sharon is a quintessential soldier.
There is nothing in his record even vaguely similar to Dahlan's terrorist career. In his life, Sharon killed not a few enemies of his country... but only in combat. There is no innocent civilians' blood on his hands.
Though he took upon himself the responsibility for Sabra and Shatila, even his investigators recognised that he wasn't involved in the events directly. He held the office of the Minister of Defence, and thus had to fall on his sword.
The Communist International of liberal wankers tried to invent another "war crime" of Jenin, and to stick it on Sharon, but even Palis confessed recently that it was a military clash.
