A joint statement issued in the Gaza Strip by the two militant groups said that if the PA tries to take such a step, it will be responsible for the results This is the exact reason why we should all support Dahlan, the other day Arrafat betrayed himself to the world by slagging Abbas in front of reporters, calling him a traitor to the cause for even standing next to Sharon and the Isreali flag.
For the first time in a long time it seems that someone wants to go in the right direction, now it is only a glimmer of hope, but better than none at all. If he is given the full support, then Arrafat will be even more pushed out into the wilderness, as his comments the other day should is beginng.
However when Arrafat said these words, it reminded me of the Gangster movies where the boss states; "That guy deserves every thing thats coming to him". The henchman would take this as a signal to do the killing.

I think what you're seeing is a deep distrust of anything related to Arafat, Fatah, and the Palestinian "Authority."
I too want to believe that Dahlan means business. But as Arafat is stilling pulling the strings in the background, I'm cautious and mistrustful.
Many people were very hopeful about the PA beginning in 1993, and look what it produced: more terrorism. I think you'll find that many people will want to see Dahlan's actions before backing him wholeheartedly.

I'm taking a wait and see approach. But if murderers kill murderers instead of innocents, it looks like an improvement to me.
